Folk Plays Morris sides are largely responsible for the survival of folk plays called 'Mummers Plays'. These are usually performed around Christmas time and feature a host of characters including Father Christmas, St. George, Turkish Knight, Doctor, etc. The plays are rich in symbolism but also comedy and are great fun to watch.
